Executive Head Chef - Slieve Donard Resort and Spa

Hazel began her career aged just 17 at Hastings Hotels and quickly rose through the ranks before finding her true love for the finer details and a passion for pastry. Hazel's career at Hastings Hotels started with a stint in the Stormont Hotel, training under Chef Chris Crowe. After a short break from the group, she returned taking up a post at the Culloden Estate and Spa under the watchful eye of Chef Paul McKnight whose encouragement and support Hazel notes as being instrumental in her development.

Through the Hastings Hotels development programme Hazel returned to studying part-time at Newry College for 3yrs, achieving a  BSc International Culinary Arts, Advanced Dip & NVQ level 4 in Patisserie and Confectionary. 

After an extended break from the group, Hazel can today be found at the beautiful Slieve Donard Resort And Spa as Executive Head Chef, as she describe facing my biggest challenge to date. Hazel is proud of this opportunity to be the company’s first female head chef and looks forward to inspiring a new generation of female chefs in Northern Ireland.
